I’m Emily, and this is a space to share some wonderful things about writing, art, and a creative life. I’m a novelist1 and teacher who loves thinking about the joys of making things, who collects gems of craft advice, who can spend hours taking apart the inner workings of art I love.

I started this newsletter for a monthly reflection on what I’m learning and loving (with some updates thrown in), but you’ll also find sporadic columns whenever I stumble across something I can only fully appreciate by yapping about it for a while.
